Aquiares means "land between rivers" in the Huetar indigenous language. The estate is the largest farm in Costa Rica and is situated on the slopes of the Turrialba volcano, a verdant area of forests, rivers, and bright flowers.
Aquiares Estate is managed by Diego Robelo who has actively explored the farm's potential via processing methods, new varieties & farm management practices. Additionally, the farm is focused on carbon neutrality and protecting its biological corridors. They have really become a leader in the Costa Rican specialty coffee world and this coffee shows the payoff. Peaberry coffee is a naturally occurring variation where only one small, round bean develops inside the coffee cherry instead of two halves. This unique structure allows for more even roasting and often results in a full-bodied cup with sweetness and light acidity.
